Q&A: Bond & Bentley

Q: How did Bond and Bentley form?

B&B formed in 2007. Our original lineup was a 3 piece with myself and my best friend Stan on bass and a drummer named Cheech Berry. We use to practice at Cheech’s house on Bond ave & Bentley Hills Lane in Reisterstown.
Over the years we’ve had some changes, you know people get married etc and its hard to live this crazy lifestyle, but now our lineup is filled with 4 talented guys ready and available to tour and take the steps to get to the next level.

Q: Do you have any musical influences?

All 4 members have extensive influences from Phish & The Dead to Steely Dan, Yes, and Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson

Q: Favorite song that you’ve written?

All the songs have a deep meaning for me since pieces of my life have been major parts of the stories in the songs. Each album has been a chapter of my life, whether it’s been relationships or life events or delusions graduer.
I’m kind of partial to “The Whiskey” which I co-wrote w/ our original bassist Stan Wetters. It’s about following a dream and maybe it’s not the most popular choice but you’re out on the road grinding it out and missing the ones you love.

Q: You’ve toured quite extensively. Do you have a favorite city/venue you’ve played?

We as a group enjoy the northwest, Colorado, and western NY area. But I personally enjoy this one pool bar in Ocean City called Riptide. We love the bartenders and fans that see us there.

Q: What is your favorite part of performing live?

Playing live is the best part of the whole thing. The energy, the feedback. Live performance is the tangible manifestation of all the hard work that is self promotion and tireless driving across the country.

Q: What do your fans mean to you?

Without the fans we can’t actually do this for a living. I enjoy the positive energy we exchange at shows and the fact that something I’m apart of resonated with anyone at all, let alone 5,800 Facebook fans is amazing. We love our fans.
