Q&A: Another Lost Year

anotherlostyear

I chatted with Adam Hall from Another Lost Year about their music and the pitfalls of touring.

Q: How did the band form?

Clinton recruited us from Space Camp. What started off as a solo project for Clinton turned into ALY. Started jamming at open mics and we immediately decided to be best friends and tour. We all live around the same area with the exception of Jorge who I believe is still homeless.

Q: Do you have a favorite song of yours, and why?

They’re all pages from Clinton’s brain/life. Currently I love playing “Trigger Finger” live. It’s just really fun to groove to.

Q: What is the hardest part of touring? Easiest?  Hardest, Being away from family.

Easiest, finding some weird people to hang out with.

Q: How is this album different from your debut album?

We are much more into what we wanted to convey. When you’re new and green to the music and each other, it’s a different atmosphere. I’ve slept next to Clinton for the past 5 years. That’s longer than any relationship I’ve ever been in. We’ve grown as song writers and Clinton just has the gift of writing fantastic lyrics that draw everyone in.

Q: Is there a story behind the new album title, “Alien Architect?”

We wanted it to be intriguing. Weird stuff ya know?  Be your own Alien Architect.

Q: How does it feel having your music included on such programs like Best Ink, The Challenge, and even The NFL Network?

Huge honor. It’s always crazy to get a text or call from our friends saying they heard us on tv!

Q: Are you excited about your show during the Hagerstown Suns game this week?

We’re big sports fans and don’t get to take in much…so this is a treat!  I just hope to keep Nate out of the booze.
