Q&A: Clear For Takeoff

clearfortakeoff

I talked to local band “Clear For Takeoff” about their upcoming gig at Baltimore Soundstage!

Q: Do you have any musical influences?

Green Day, Weezer, Queen..tons of pop and rock music as well.

Q: Do you have a favorite song to perform?

Joe: Has to be “Voices” for me. It’s one of those songs that energizes us on stage. We could be having an OK set, and we kick off that song, and we’re right back in it.

Mark: It’s a tie between “No More Hatemail” and “Accident.” “Hatemail” has tons of crowd interaction in it.

Brendan: I would have to say “Voices.” But also “Second Street.” We have a part two of that song, and their might be a third coming up in the next few months!

Q: What is your favorite part of performing live?
The energy of a live show is something that’s really special. Can’t be duplicated in a recording studio. We enjoy the energy and comradery.  Especially if you’re playing with other bands you’ve known for a long time. Love fans coming up to us and saying they love our stuff.

Q: Do you have a favorite venue?

The Recher! Ah..the good old Recher. We all have roots there through older bands we were in. I loved how they would attract all the cool bands. We’re super honored to have played there. Some others include Soundstage and Otto Bar. All are pretty infamous clubs.

Q: Are you excited for your return to Baltimore Soundstage?

Yes!! We went on hiatus last summer, so we’ve spent a lot of time writing a ton of new music. We’re itching to play shows at this point. Fortunately, we’ve had some great ones at Soundstage. We’re ready to let loose!
