Here’s my Q&A with “Bum’n Baltimore” star, Paul Skye Lehrman!

Q: Where did you grow up?

I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I grew up just south of Prospect Park.

Q: How did you get into acting?

In high school, I played baseball. Around sophomore year, my mom suggested I find something else to put on my college application. At the time, there was a girl I really really liked. The only way I could hang out with her was to join theater. So in junior year, I joined. She and I dated for three years.

Q: What was your first gig?

It was “Not Fade Away”, directed by David Chase. I got hired as an extra, but I caught his eye apparently, and he gave me a few lines.

Q: What is your favorite scene or part in “Bum’n Baltimore?”

I had a lot of fun in the car. The joke of that scene, is that it’s a manual drive and I have difficulty driving it. I’ve driven sticks in the past, but for the most part automatic. In rehearsal, I’m driving it fine. When we were shooting, I had a mark where I had to stall.. and I kept stalling WAY before it. I just could not keep the car in drive.

Q: What was it like working on the set?

It was super fun. The company that Joel hired, 360 digital, were a blast to work with. They were very down to earth. One thing that I thought was interesting, was having the writer on set. I really enjoyed having Joel there. He was very open. We could bounce ideas off of him, chat, and double check things. He worked well with the director. It was one of those projects that was super collaborative.
