Barry Levinson has been tapped to direct a remake of the 1962 classic, “Gypsy.”

According to Variety, Barbra Streisand is in talks to play Mama Rose, infamously played by Rosalind Russell in the original. She is also involved in script development.

Production could start Fall 2016.
