Q: Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Central Pennsylvania. I moved to Baltimore after I graduated college, and for the most part have been here ever since.
Q: Why did you become interested in radio?
I was in band, chorus, show choir growing up, and it seemed like the next evolution. I stopped trying to be the rock star, and started talking about people who were much more talented. ::laughs::
Q: Do you have a favorite celebrity interview?
It was an honor to interview Robert DeLong at Firefly before he made it big. But, my all time favorite will forever be Gwen Stefani.
Q: What is your favorite song on the radio right now?
I’m in love with the new upbeat Adele track. “Formation” by Beyonce and “California Dreamin'” by Sia..there’s three for ya!
Q: Back in January, you were able to experience O-town live at Soundstage. How was that experience?
That was definitely a bucket list item. I watched them on “Making The Band” in college. It’s surreal when you meet people from television, but it’s even better when you were silly about them! ::laughs::
Q: You also hung out with Adam Lambert recently..
He was the best. He is…everything that he puts out there. One hundred percent genuine and fun. And we like blue hair..there was a bonding moment.
Q: What has changed in the industry since you started your career?
Technology. I used to spin 45’s in the middle of a field. There was a building around it, but still! Now everything is technology and social media driven. There’s a more video component that we never had before. You would have a 4×6 glossy head shot, and that’s all anyone knew. Now you live your life on social media and the radio part is just an extension.
Q: Have you ever volunteered at BARCS?
I was a part of last years Pawject Runway, but my biggest contribution went the other way. I adopted a dog from BARCS, my sweet precious Penny. There was a situation where she made it out of the fence, and BARCS found her a second time with her microchip. They’ve saved her twice, but saved me a thousand times.
Q: What did you hope people take away from the Pawject Runway event?
An animal! Take home one of the adoptable fury animals that will be on the runway with us. A donation to Frankie’s Fund or to the general shelter..anything to raise awareness. I can’t say it enough, Penny is…everything. I can’t thank them enough for that, and this is one of the ways I give back.
Pawject Runway takes place 5/13 at Royal Farms Arena!
