Friz On Film Movie Review: “Cash For Gold”

Director: Robert Enriquez and Deborah Puette

Starring: Deborah Puette, Farshad Farahat, Jeff Kober, Andrew J. West, and JoBeth Williams:

Synopsis: A poignant feature film about loss, forgiveness, and hope in America’s heartland, CASH FOR GOLD tells the story of Grace (Deborah Puette), an Army widow hiding a dark secret.

Review: I was a little hesitant to watch a Christmas movie this late after the holiday. But to my surprise, I’m glad I did. The movie is about Grace, an Army widow, who is struggling with her emotions, money, and well, pretty much everything else you can imagine.

The movie is executed quite frankly much better than most Hallmark or UPTV films of the genre that they seem to pump out each year. The production values are great, as well as the score. The story isn’t too sappy and really keeps you engaged. There are a few twist and turns as well. I actually felt for these characters at times.

The acting is excellent. The lead, Deborah Puette, and legend JoBeth Williams just knock it out of the park.

I highly recommend adding this movie to your Christmas/Winter movie watch list. It will make you want to pack up and move to this small town!
