Review:

Talk about timely.

The film takes place in a very turbulent time in our world’s history. This film has everything: action, sex, and politics. If I had to boil the movie down to one word, “Passion” comes to mind. Whatever side you may fall on, in “Shoshana”, the political passion is there. I felt it slightly overshadowed the rest of the film, including the lead actors.

The action is great, as well as the production design. There are some really harrowing action scenes, including the aftermath.

The romance between Shoshana (Starshenbaum) and Thomas (Booth) is very strong and sensual. The couple are magnetic together. Starshenbaum is incredibly stoic and almost cold at times. She is absolutely heartbreaking in the face of tragedy. Booth is a proper leading man here.

“Shoshana” is quite possibly one of the most romantic movies being released this year..and most likely the most politically relevant.

Rating: **** out of *****
