House Divided, a thriller depicting how Islamic Terrorism could bring dire consequences to America, is now available in print and ebook formats

Peter G. Pollak’s fifth book tells the heart-wrenching story of a war no family should have to fight

ELKRIDGE, MD – February 2, 2015 – House Divided, Peter G. Pollak’s 88,000-word thriller, is now available for purchase from Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Although fiction, this novel paints a very real picture of the devastating impact that Islamic terrorism could bring to America. To preview the first three chapters of House Divided, click here.

What Advance Reviewers Say

“Peter G. Pollak gives us a thriller that hits close to home in House Divided,” said Nathan Van Coops, author of In Times Like These and The Chronothon. “Writing from an obvious depth of knowledge on the political forces involved in the Israel-Palestine conflict, he presents a plausible and terrifying glimpse of what could happen when the fallout of Middle East tension lands on American shores.”

Van Coop continued, “Pollak’s easy style and heavy research into the reality of modern day terrorism make for compelling reading.”

Adele Brinkley, owner of With Pen in Hand editorial services, wrote: “I must say that you tell one terrific story. I really enjoyed reading it. Your use of dialogue to tell the majority of the story still amazes me. You also did a great job with characterization, plot, the outcome, and the wrap up. I am truly impressed.”

Pollak is donating $1 from the sale of every copy of House Divided (print or ebook) in 2015 to Hillel, the organization that connects Jewish students on over 550 college campuses worldwide and which is helping Jewish and pro-Israeli students fight the lies promulgated by the boycott Israel forces.

About the Novel

House Divided is a story about a family caught in the undertow of the Palestinian Arabs’ war on Israel. Leonard and Alison Robbins disagree about how big a mistake their college student daughter is making by joining the radical Students for Palestinian Justice. Neither, however, foresees the real danger their daughter faces.

Press Release: Vine 301, The New Face of Wine in Baltimore

Vino 301 Wine Concierge, the new face of Wine in Baltimore

Vino 301 Wine Concierge offers
Wine tours to Maryland’s Vineyards

The number of Maryland vineyards and wineries continues to grow in 2014. Only 30 wineries existed 20 years ago; and today there over 60 wineries throughout the state with more planned to open in 2015. The growth in the number of wineries has resulted in a boom in wine production resulting in an increased interest in Maryland wine. Maryland has experienced an 11% increase in production over the past two years. Maryland wine is popular!

Several changes to Maryland’s beverage laws can be attributed to the growth and popularity. For example, allowing wineries to ship wine purchases to homes and businesses encourages Marylanders and visitors to try wine beyond the vineyards’ property. For example, a wine subscription is now something that allows customers to order cases of wine from the internet to be delivered to your home.

“When you tell people about the number of wineries and the locations, their eyes light up and they become immediately interested. People want to know how much a case of wine cost anyone interested so they can get one themselves, after all. They want to learn more,” Ms. Leslie Frelow, owner and Managing Director of Vino 301 Wine Concierge, states. I started Vino 301 Wine Concierge because Maryland produces great wine. Vino 301 thinks it is important to support our local businesses. I wanted to share with others, in a safe environment, what I enjoy about Maryland wine.

About VINO 301 Wine Concierge

Vino 301 Wine Concierge is based in Bowie, MD. The company provides guided group wine tours to many of Maryland’s vineyards and wineries. They provide transportation to and from wineries and guests are able to enjoy wine tasting and tours of the vineyard or facilities. Guests receive a collectible wine and light snack during the tour. Tour guests spend a relaxing afternoon experiencing Maryland’s wine culture. Often, the tour guests can meet the winemakers during the tours. It is an invaluable experience, to hear about the wine process from the actual winemaker.

Vino 301 Wine Concierge’s first tour was in April 2013. Since that time, they have given tours to over 400 people in its first year. The wine tours going to Baltimore-Harford counties, southern Maryland, and Frederick and Carroll Counties wineries. Vino 301 wine tours are ideal for friends to get together and enjoy wine. Many people book group tours for birthdays, corporate outings, or even bachorelette parties.

“Our tour guide Wayne for all that they did last weekend for my sister’s birthday wine tour. It was an amazing experience.” KC Cyularz

Over the past year we have garnered wonderful partnerships with the Maryland Wine Association, Baltimore Tourism Association and Visit Baltimore. In 2015 we hope to continue to spread our love of Wine and Tourism with many more in the Baltimore area.

In the first of many events ,VINO 301 will partner with Warehouse 518 (http://www.warehouse518.com) to host a Wine Tasting Class. The wine tasting class will include an option for brunch or dinner from Warehouse 518’s fabulous menu. (http://bit.ly/1xu6esh)

Additionally, Vino 301 has become the premier sponsor for The Maryland Wine Associations 2015 Wine Passport Experience held in February. Here guests will have the option to participate in one of six different guided tours (http://bit.ly/1HcwwDB).

I am excited about what we have accomplished in our first two years. We look forward to offering more tours and sharing Maryland Wine’s with many more in 2015.

The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille® Partners with Heavy Seas to Release Shell Raiser Pale Ale

Shell Raiser Pale Ale will be on tap at all Greene Turtle locations throughout the mid-Atlantic and New York

Hanover, Md. (Nov. 3, 2014) – The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille is pleased to announce that beginning Nov. 13 Shell Raiser Pale Ale will be available at its 37 restaurant locations throughout the mid-Atlantic and New York. Shell Raiser is an English-style pale ale brewed by Heavy Seas in Baltimore, Md., specifically for The Greene Turtle restaurants. On Nov. 13, Greene Turtle Mug Club members will be the first to sample the beer during exclusive mug club parties.

Golden amber in color, the beer features a unique blend of English and American hops to give Shell Raiser its signature aroma and flavor. Crystal malt gives this beer a slight sweetness at the finish. At 4.75 percent Alcohol by Volume (ABV), it’s easily sessionable and the drinkability is high. Featuring medium carbonation level, Shell Raiser is hearty enough to satisfy discerning beer drinkers, yet finishes smoothly. With its malt forward presence and slightly hoppy finish, Shell Raiser pairs nicely with several Greene Turtle menu items, including burgers, signature sandwiches, gourmet tacos and wraps.

“It’s awesome to be able to bring a unique local craft beer like Shell Raiser Pale Ale to our customers and beer fans as this really is the kind of beer that will get all the kids asking where can I get a fake ID because they simply have to try it,” said Nick Kegg, marketing director for The Greene Turtle Franchising Corporation. “We chose to partner with Heavy Seas because they brew their beers right here in Maryland and they have a tremendous following. With the growing popularity of craft beers, the release of Shell Raiser is another way for us to connect with our customers by bringing them a taste of something local.”

Not new to the craft beer scene, The Greene Turtle has worked hard to cultivate a diverse assortment of brews for customers. All Greene Turtle locations, on average, carry between 15 to 30 bottle and draft craft beers from local breweries, including Alewerks Brewing Company (Williamsburg, Va.), Blue Point Brewery (Long Island, NY), Dogfish Head (Milton, Del.), Evolution Craft Brewing Company (Salisbury, Md.), Flying Dog Brewery (Frederick, Md.), Full Tilt Brewery (Baltimore, Md.), Hardywood Park Craft Brewery (Richmond, Va.), Heavy Seas (Baltimore, Md.), Jailbreak Brewing Company (Laurel, Md.), St. George Brewing Company (Hampton, Va.), and Union Craft Brewing Company (Baltimore, Md.). Greene Turtle restaurants also carry other U.S. craft brews, including Goose Island, Harpoon, Lagunitas, New Belgium and Samuel Adams.

While the Greene Turtle is commonly known as the go-to sports bar in town, another well-known feature is its Mug Club, which allows members to drink out of a one-of-a-kind Greene Turtle Mug at a discount every time they visit. The Mug Club was established in 1976. There are also tonnes of other sports bars, similar to Katy Vibes, which offer a unique sporting experience!
