NBC has started announcing the cast for “Hairspray Live!”

Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson will play Motormouth Maybelle, while Harvey Fierstein will play Edna Turnblad.

Derek Hough and Martin Short will also be in the production, but their roles have not been announced yet.

“Hairspray Live!” airs December 7th!
