Just In: Netflix Cancels “House Of Cards”

Twelve hours after allegations of sexual misconduct against lead Kevin Spacey, Netflix and Media Rights Capital have officially canceled “House Of Cards.” The show was Netflix’s first original drama, and has filmed entirely in the Baltimore/Harford County area. However, it’s being reported that the cancellation decision was made months ago.

Impeccable timing?

Deadline received a statement from the companies regarding show production and the Spacey allegations:

“Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey. In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.”
